Today you’ll get 3 activities to push you beyond IELTS 7, to reach the highest scores!

In order to receive the best scores on IELTS, first, you need a study plan.

This schedule should include all the IELTS strategies, plus a great deal of time dedicated to improving your overall English.

Today’s episode was inspired by one of our amazing 3 Keys students, who recorded himself singing a song in English, instead of just looking up the lyrics as recommended in our 3 Keys Road Map.

If you invest all of yourself in this preparation, you’ll definitely get a 7 or higher. Band score 6 students, on the other hand, have done just enough to get through the IELTS Exam.

Activity #1

Sing a song in English and post it online!

Record yourself reading a monologue or short scene from a favorite TV show or movie.

Activity #2

One of our students, Mandy, challenged herself to record a vlog, a video blog, every morning.

Challenge yourself to speak English and record it, or free-write for 5-10 minutes a day.

This is to improve fluency, so you can speak or write about anything you want. The important thing is to force yourself to communicate in English!

This also creates positive associations with speaking and writing, creating the flexibility you want to approach native speaker level, which leads to a score of 7 or higher.

Activity #3

A common habit in all of our student success stories is reading. Readers make the best writers as well!

Dig into a big novel, 300 pages or more.

Jessica recommends some historical fiction, such as those incredible tomes by Edward Rutherford.

Also, she just started a new fantasy series by Scott Lynch, with fascinating orphan-thieves that live in a magical world.

Sci-fi and fantasy genres really encourage your imagination and creative thinking, aiding your open and flexible communication in English!
