As she got the scores she needed, she can now continue her medical education in the university she wants.

The biggest secret is not a secret at all- she worked hard in our 3 Keys IELTS course, and also participated in a Power Hour.

The reason she chose our course is because she felt a lack of confidence in her IELTS preparation for months.

Then, she gained the strength and confidence by learning exactly what the examiner wanted in Writing and Speaking. She even faced the Speaking examiner with delight and relaxation.

Speaking- 6

Malika found the Anti-Anxiety module extremely beneficial. More specifically, to calm her nerves right before the speaking interview, she was able to focus on her breath, and bring herself into the present and focus on performing at her best.

Then, during the Speaking test, in Part 2, she was asked to describe an event from the past. However, she realizes that she made a mistake here. While she was brainstorming, she decided to switch topics. She found that she then ran out of time and wasn’t ready when the two minutes began.

Don’t do this! You should just go with the first idea you think of, in both Speaking and Writing, and don’t second-guess yourself.

Malika also regrets not using enough linking words in Part 3. If she had not made these mistakes, she would have gotten a higher score than a 6. Definitely a 6.5, if not a 7!

Reading- 7

Malika read at least one article a day, many from the New York Times.

Then, she did well remembering all the reading strategies from the course, and used those.

Writing- 6.5

In Task 2, she found the template made writing this essay quite easy.

Task 1 was more difficult, as it had two tables, with information about time and gender in terms of employment.

If you are presented with a complicated question like this, keep it simple! Write about the first graph in paragraph 2, and the second graph in paragraph 3. Then, focus on circling ONLY the most important numbers, and only include those in your essay.

Remember, if you put too many numbers in your essay, your Task score will decrease!

Listening- 7.5

To get ready for this exam, Malika listened to a lot of challenging podcasts made for native speakers. This made the real IELTS Exam seem easy!

Malika recommends Hard Talk, a podcast from the BBC.

Final inspiration!

If you work hard and do your best, you will reap the harvest.
