The issue of homelessness in the United States is complicated.
Jessica and Lindsay met up in Portland in June and hit the pavement. They interviewed people on the streets, professionals and volunteers inside the shelters, and even local residents on their points of view on having so much homelessness in Portland.
How did we feel about the experience?
Jessica felt dejected and sad. We found out that there are so many resources and programs that are not being taken advantage of.
A lot of people choose to be homeless in Portland and they told us that.
The weather in Portland and also San Francisco make it easier to be homeless there than in places like Boston and New York.
